200,000 Miles

We hit 200,000 miles on our minivan today in the middle of Tennessee! A lot has happened in our van, including cutting off my son's finger, lots of barf, bad singing and many happy times.

We're on a new adventure as we head to Las Vegas. We've driven 14 hours, with 26.5 to go!

The last few days in Virginia Beach have been exhausting emotionally. We've shared life with these people for years. Saying goodbye was gut-wrenching!

Our church threw us a party on Friday night. It was amazing; I felt honored and appreciated and it was so cool to see what God has done through us. As I fell asleep last night I whispered to Vince, "It's really an honor to be used by God in such an effective way."

Unfortunately parties like this don't happen everyday (or ever for some of us). We normally don't get to hear life-changing testimonies from people that we've influenced for God. We don't tend to get hundreds of letters from people showing their gratitude and love. It's a shame really.

So many of us are burnt out and feel completely under appreciated. We often wonder what kind of difference we're actually making. I know I do at times!

Let me tell you the TRUTH: You are making an enormous difference in people's lives. They may never tell you, but it's true. The little things make a difference: Calling someone and cheering them up, sharing a similar pain with someone, praying for them, caring about them and loving them IS making a HUGE difference in their lives. God is using you. You are necessary in the kingdom, whether you feel it or not. You are Jesus' hands and feet. And God is so proud of you. He gives you a standing ovation every time you serve Him, no matter who is watching.

So thank you for serving God with your husband. Thank you for your sacrifice and love for people. Thank you for the late nights and early mornings; the laughter and tears. Thank you for following God. There's nothing better you could do with your life!
