Today is Verve's 2nd Birthday! March 14, 2010 was such a crazy, scary, amazing day! It's hard to believe that it's been 2 years. If you've read my past posts, you know that moving here to start Verve was not easy for me. There were many ups and downs. I can finally say that I am so thankful that God brought us here. I can't imagine my life without this church plant (I can't believe I'm actually writing this...). It's really an honor to serve God and reach these super-broken people with the love of God. What an amazing journey!
117 people have been baptized, including my daughter on Monday night!
Sadly, this will be my last post. As you can tell, I haven't been very consistent over the past year. Between my job, going to graduate school, Verve and my family I just don't have the time.
I want you to know that you can contact me anytime at email@example.com. I have such a love for church planting wives. I want you to know that you are not alone. The church planting journey is so hard, but so worth it! Hang in there! Contact me or another planter wife if you are struggling. Don't try to handle it by yourself! There are plenty of us out there who know exactly how you are feeling.
I want to leave you with this thought...Let's pretend that God is writing a new Bible right now. The New-New Testament. Like the current Bible, it's filled with stories of faithful people who love God and are trying to make a difference for His kingdom. You might be surprised, but your story is written in there. You and your family sacrificed everything and followed God. Like Abraham, you followed God into the unknown, unsure of what to expect, unsure if you would fail or succeed. You loved people enough to leave whatever comfort you knew for the uncertainty of starting a new church. Your faith and obedience has changed lives. People who would not have been in heaven will now be there for eternity...because of you...because of your family...because you started a new church.
Your story would definitely be in the New-New Testament.
Do you know that God brags about you? You make God giggle. God is so proud of you and He loves you so much.
May God bless you on your journey...
